After a career of teaching science, it is so rewarding to create with fire, metal, stone and chemicals. Like Mr. Wizard, with goggles and face mask on, a lighted torch in my hand, I’m ready to solder, fuse or just melt some metal. Watching copper and silver react while being forged and heated is mesmerizing. Whether working with fine or sterling silver, copper or 24 K gold foil, I am constantly learning and perfecting new ways of shaping metal and applying stone. That’s the challenge, to replicate or improve a design, or to develop a totally new - for me - look!
